Watch This Traffic Reporter Pay Homage to Phife Dawg

One of the best tributes to surface thus far.

Lots of car stereos are bumping A Tribe Called Quest today, honoring the legacy of the late Phife Dawg, who passed away late last night (March 22) at the age of 45 after battling diabetes.

Hip hop woke up to the news this morning, with many tributes arising all over social media, with one even making its way into a standard traffic news reports.

Mark Arum, of Channel 2 Action News, was one of countless many others vocalizing the influence the co-founder of Tribe had in his life, sharing on his Facebook, “I am stunned. And shook. Most times I have to do a mic check I quote my man Phife: ‘Microphone Check, 1,2, what is this? The five-foot assassin with the roughneck business!’”

Once on air, the reporter took to the mic himself, incorporating lines from “Award Tour” into his segment, and it's very much on point.
