Lil Wayne's Working On A New Mixtape With DJ Drama

Weezy's been working hard recently.

Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz recently released their collaborative ColleGrove project and have been doing press to promote it since.

Wayne doesn’t do many radio interviews but did agree to join Tity Boi on DJ Drama’s Shade 45 show. During the interview, Drama revealed that he’s working on a new mixtape with Wayne, although details beyond that were scarce.

“I also been working on some crazy s**t for a mixtape,” he says right after Weezy talks to him about potentially putting out an album instead of a traditional tape.

Also during the interview Lil Wayne talked about the difference between today’s rappers and the ones he came up with during his era.

“They settle for what works and it’s working. It works for them,” he explained when asked newer emcees. “That’s why you don’t hear me knocking ’em. You don’t hear me hating, saying this is that or you shouldn’t do this or that, because it actually works for them. So if it works, it works but I’m just a part of a different culture, a different wave of music. And that wave was Jay Z, Nas, Biggie, and at that time it was all about being the best.”

The last time we heard a solo project from Lil Wayne was 2015’s No Ceilings 2. Could we see a new tape from him before the year’s up?
