Last night (April 9) Bernie Sanders hosted a “community conversation” at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, proving that he continues to showcase an excellent taste in music - this time by inviting Jhené Aiko to perform.
During the rally, filmmaker Spike Lee moderated a panel made up of Sanders, activist and singer Harry Belafonte, Erica Garner and former Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner. Topics spanned from economic disparity, minority youth, affordable housing, among other community-related focuses.
Many musicians have come forward in support of Sanders, including Charlamagne Tha God, Run The Jewels, Best Coast and Bon Iver, to name a few.
Check out a recap of the rally featuring a beautiful performance from Aiko below.
