Metro Boomin' Is Heavily Involved In Drake's Views From The 6

You can trust him on this.

Metro Boomin’ will cover the latest issue of The FADER and within his feature interview the soaring Atlanta producer revealed some details about his involvement in Drake’s forthcoming Views From The 6 album.

According to author Amos Barshad, Metro’s “been in Miami, in LA, and in Toronto working on Drake’s meticulously workshopped Views From the 6.” The last time the two worked together was on 2015’s What a Time to Be Alive, for which MB was named Executive Producer. Barshad revealed that he heard a phone conversation between Metro Boomin’ and Kanye West as well, during which ‘Ye suggests that the two form a production duo.

Also during the interview, Boomin’ says Nelly and OJ Da Juiceman inspired different elements of his eventual artistry and explained the dynamic between working with both Future and Young Thug at different times.

“Yeah, it’s some crazy sh*t,” he says. “You can’t have either one of them feel like you fucking with the other one more than them. Either one of them would be offended. You gotta remain neutral as much as possible. It’s no bias. Atlanta, man — everybody’s a male, there’s a lot of ego. Somebody gotta be number one. Neither one of them are the type to settle for number two. I feel like they both motivate each other, and it’s good for the culture and the music — just as long as it stay at that.”

Metro Boomin’s FADER cover physically hits shelves on May 10. Check out its cover below and read the full feature here.
