"They are geniuses for what they have done and accomplished," Birdman told XXL in a recent interview. "Cube been doing what he do for so long, but for them to do that and to make it trendsetting, it opened doors for us. I just think that what we have is way more special because we're in modern time."
Slim also chimed in to call the script “gold” while detailing their plan for telling their own story, the story of Cash Money Records.
"There's a lot of things that people don't know that we have been through," Slim says. “And things that happened behind the scenes of the company and things that happened before we were with Universal. We've got a story. The way I'm putting it together is going to be great. It's going to be special."
The two are teaming up to focus on the time in the 1990s and 2000s, when the independent imprint was at the peak of its reign, and share some of what the label heads went through as well as what the label is going through today.
