Sorority Sisters Placed on Probation for Dressing in Blackface

When will people learn that blackface isn't funny, humorous or clever?

When will people learn that blackface isn't funny, humorous or clever?
Well, it seems that six members of the Phi Mu sorority at the University of Southern Mississippi are learning the hard way after being placed on probation after they came up with the brilliant idea of dressing in blackface to impersonate the Huxtables from The Cosby Show at a 1980s-themed party last week.
The women met with a group of African-American student leaders at the university. Phi Mu National President Kris Bridges told the Associated Press that the matter is being investigated and more disciplinary action could follow. She says the local chapter will sponsor a campus-wide program on diversity appreciation.
The six students have yet to be publicly identified.
If they wanted to emulate the Cosbys, big hair, shoulder pads and a garish sweater probably would have done the trick.
