Jennifer Josephine Hosten crowned Miss World.

Jennifer Josephine Hosten of Grenada won the title of Miss World at the inaugural pageant. Pearl Jansen of South Africa claimed second place; it would be the first time two Black women had taken top honors at a major international pageant.
