National Association of Black Journalists formed in Washington, D.C..

<p>Forty-four men and women gathered to form <a target="_blank" href="http://www.nabj.org/">The National Association of Black Journalists</a> in Washington, D.C. on this day. NABJ is the largest organization of journalists of color in the United States. It aims to provide balanced coverage of the Black community and society as a whole.</p>
