Landsman Aaron Anderson was awarded the Navy’s Medal of Honor for heroic acts of bravery on this day in 1833. During the Civil War, Anderson worked aboard the USS Wyandank. He and members of his crew bravely continued duties of clearing Mattox Creek, Virginia in the face of enemy fire.
