Trayvon Martin's Killer Wants Your Money
George Zimmerman wants you to help pay for his defense for his trail of fatally shooting Trayvon Martin earlier this year.
Mark O'Mara, Zimmerman's lawyer, said Wednesday that Zimmerman will launch the new George Zimmerman Defense Fund next month, according to the Associated Press. Donors will get "thank you" cards personally signed by Zimmerman.
Zimmerman has been charged with second-degree murder in the killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, who was unarmed. Zimmerman, a former neighborhood watch volunteer, has pleaded not guilty, insisting that he shot the teenager in self-defense. He has invoked Florida’s controversial "Stand Your Ground" law, which allows people to use deadly force in instances where they feel threatened.
