Obama Note to Newtown High Coach and Teacher Lights Up Twitterverse

President Obama responds to note left by a Newtown High School coach and teacher before his speech at a vigil for victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary shootings.

President Obama gave two staff members at Newtown High School a reason to smile if only for a moment after the tragic shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Football coach Steve George and teacher Bob Pattison wrote a note to the president on a white-board in the classroom that was used as a staging area before Obama's speech at Sunday's memorial service for the 20 children and six adults slain on Friday. They thanked him for coming to help their community heal and much to their delight, he wrote back.

"Myself [and] pattison left a note to president Obama on my board and he responded!! Here is his response," George tweeted.
"You're in our thoughts and prayers," the president wrote on the white-board.
