No, you're not seeing double!
Identical twins Kirstie and Kristie Bronner will serve as co-valedictorians of Spelman College's 2013 graduating class during its commencement ceremony on May 19.
The 22-year-old sisters each held a 4.0 GPA, the highest of more than 500 graduates. They are the first set of twin valedictorians in the school's 132-year history.
Both music majors, the sisters credited their academic achievements to a steady work ethic and commitment to their faith. "We can sum up our progress with the saying, 'Work like it’s all up to you and pray like it’s all up to God," said Kristie Bronner in an interview with TheGrio. She added that she and her sister focused on "turning in their best work" rather than attaining a certain grade.
Spelman is credited as one of the top liberal arts schools in the country. The sisters will be third-generation graduates of the historically Black women's college.
Following graduation, the Bronners plan to join the youth ministry and music department at Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral in Atlanta, led by their father, Bishop Dale Bronner, and aspire to record a contemporary Christian album.
