Yasiin Bey Releases Stop-and-Frisk Trial Video PSA

Hip hop artist Yasiin Bey has released a stop-and-frisk trial video PSA in conjunction with the Communities United for Police Reform and the Center for Constitutional Rights.

Although the landmark trial challenging the NYPD's controversial stop-and-frisk procedures ended on Monday, hip hop artist Yasiin Bey looks to continue bringing attention to the case through a new video PSA.

The three-minute video was released in conjunction with the Center for Constitutional Rights and Communities United for Police Reform.
During the PSA video, Bey sits by a piano and sings the lyrics "Press, Don't Tread on Me." The video runs down statistics surrounding the NYPD's stop-and-frisk tactics and police interviews and voices of victims of racial profiling by police.

From 2002 to 2011, Black and Latinos made up close to 90 percent of all stops, according to the New York Civil Liberties Union.
The trial is now being reviewed by a federal New York judge who will decide the future policies surrounding stop and frisk.
