George Zimmerman was out shopping for a new handgun Thursday, according to TMZ. The former neighborhood watch volunteer went to Kel-Tec, a gun manufacturing company in Cocoa, Florida, and inquired about the legality of buying a Kel-Tec KSG.

The weapon is often used for home defense. Zimmerman reportedly took a tour of the facility and took a photo with an employee at the assembly plant.

Kel-Tec also creates the PF-9 gun, the weapon he used to shoot and kill Trayvon Martin in February 2012. Zimmerman was acquitted of second-degree murder charges in July.
