The 1963 March on Washington was Katrina MacRae's first brush with history, but certainly not her last.
"I was just 5 years old when my parents brought me to the original march and that memory locked in my brain," said MacRae, who attended the march commemorating the event with her children, Justin and Jayden.
Fifty years ago, MacRae, 55, a benefits specialist for Lockheed Martin, understandably didn't realize how important the occasion was, but became increasingly aware of it as she grew up.
"And now that I have children, I wanted them to come down and be part of history as well," the native Washingtonian said.
