UPDATE: Attorney Says Zimmerman Did Not Threaten Father-in-Law

Police investigating a "possible domestic battery" incident.

UPDATE:
George Zimmerman’s attorney, Mark O’Mara, says that his client did not threaten his father-in-law with a weapon on Monday, according to the Associated Press. Zimmerman allegedly punched the father of his estranged wife, Shellie Zimmerman, in the nose, according to a 911 call she made.

O’Mara said there may have been some “pushing and touching,” but not a punch. Zimmerman was questioned and released from jail Monday evening but authorities are still viewing video from a surveillance camera outside their house.

Shellie Zimmerman called police officers to her father's house, saying her estranged husband threatened her with a gun. George Zimmerman wasn't arrested and police are investigating the incident.

Shellie Zimmerman said on a 911 call that her estranged husband punched her father in the nose, grabbed an iPad out of her hand and smashed it and threatened them both with a gun.
Shellie is not planning to press charges, according to the Chicago Tribune.

In response to the news, George Zimmerman's brother, Robert Zimmerman Jr., tweeted that "we've learned from GZ case not to 'jump to conclusions,' to wait for facts, & to avoid speculation. 'News' is a business — not your friend."
Zimmerman, who was found not guilty in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, has had a few run-ins with the law in recent weeks. Just last week he was pulled over for speeding in Lake Mary, Florida. He must pay a fine of $256.

In August, Zimmerman was pulled over by police in Forney, Texas, for speeding on a highway and was carrying a gun in his glove compartment. Zimmerman was cleared to go with a verbal warning.

Separately, Zimmerman's wife, Shellie, announced Thursday that she has filed for divorce. She told Good Morning America in an interview that her husband is selfish, reports the Associated Press. "I have a selfish husband and I think George is all about George," she said.
