Chicago Gun Violence: 3 Dead, 15 Injured This Past Weekend
Gun violence across the city of Chicago left three people dead and 15 injured this past weekend, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. The victims were all males in their 20s.
The latest shooting occurred early Sunday in the Ashburn neighborhood, where Ladarius Edwards, 23, was shot in the head and in the right leg, according to authorities. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead less than a half hour later.
On Friday night, Jeffrey Daniels, 24, was pronounced dead after he was found in the driver's seat of a car with a bullet wound to his head. Authorities declared him dead by early Saturday.
David Kennedy, 24, was found by authorities with a gunshot wound in his head late Friday inside an apartment, according to the city's medical examiner. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the Sun-Times reports.
There have been 329 deaths by gun violence in Chicago in 2014, according to data collected by Red Eye Chicago's homicide tracker.
