Chicago Gun Violence: 1 Killed, 20 Wounded This Past Weekend
One man was killed and 20 other people were injured in gun violence throughout the city of Chicago this past weekend, ABC 7 Chicago reports.
Mutahir Rauf, a 23-year-old student at Loyola University Chicago, was struck Friday evening in his chest and head after being targeted in an attempted robbery. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The youngest reported injured victim was a 9-year-old boy who was shot in the lower right leg Saturday morning. He was walking with his father and a suspect in a passing vehicle opened fire. The boy was not the intended victim of the attack, which police believe was gang related. He was taken to an area hospital, treated and listed in good condition.
