Chicago Gun Violence: 1 Dead, 5 Wounded This Past Weekend
One man was shot dead and five people were killed in Chicago gun violence this past weekend, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Michael Harrison was shot while standing on a sidewalk with another man, 31, Friday evening in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.
Harrison was struck in the abdomen and was taken to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his wound. The other man survived wounds in his left calf and right ankle. He is in stable condition.
The youngest of the wounded this past weekend was a 15-year-old boy who was shot in the left side of his neck and his right knee at a convenience store Saturday night. His condition has stabilized.
There have been seven deaths because of gun violence in Chicago since the start of 2015, according to Red Eye Chicago homicide tracker.
