In Chicago, one person was killed and at least eight were wounded in gun violence this past weekend, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. A 13-year-old boy was the youngest of the victims.

Anthony Diaz was shot to death Sunday night over what may have been a social media-related incident. He and his sisters, 15 and 17, went out to confront an individual about Facebook posts that evening, the Sun-Times reports. Their parents did not know they left out.

The encounter turned violent after the teens were beat down, and Diaz was struck by a bullet in his left side. The bullet went through his body and left through his chest. He was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead before midnight Monday.

Other reported shootings Sunday include a 20-year-old man, who was shot around 6 p.m. and another man, 20, who was struck with bullets around 4 p.m. in a different incident, the Chicago Tribune reports. They were both taken to area hospitals to be treated for their wounds.

There have been 31 homicide victims of gun violence in Chicago in 2015, according to data retrieved from Red Eye Chicago homicide tracker.
