Chicago Gun Violence: 3 Dead, 6 Hurt This Past Weekend
In Chicago, three men were were killed and at least six people were hurt this past weekend in gun violence, according to the Chicago Tribune.
A 26-year-old man, whose identity has not been made public, was a victim in the most recent fatal shooting in the West Englewood neighborhood Sunday. He was reportedly taken to a nearby medical center and pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m. Police say the man was a gang member.
DeMarcus Adams, 28, was killed Saturday evening in the Sheridan Park neighborhood. He succumbed to injuries in his back and leg. He was standing in the street when someone opened fire and bullets struck him.
On Friday, Malcolm Tompkins's body was found laying on a parkway according to the Tribune. The 25-year-old was shot near his home and taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
So far in 2015, 40 people have died from gunshot wounds, according to Red Eye Chicago homicide tracker.
