Deasia Watkins, 20, of Cincinnati is facing charges of aggravated murder in the death of her 3-month-old daughter, WCPO reports. Police answered an emergency call Monday morning. After arriving, the officers found the baby dead inside a home and beheaded.

Watkins was arrested and taken into custody immediately after authorities discovered the dead body of the baby girl named Jinayah, the New York Daily News reports.

Police are still investigating the details of the heartbreaking crime. They are unsure of whether there are additional suspects connected to the murder. A Hamilton County coroner's early findings determined that the infant "suffered from multiple traumas" before dying.

"It's days like this when you really wonder how much evil there is in the world and how we're fighting it,” coroner Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco said to WCPO. “We're trying to do right by this child. We're trying to bring justice for this baby."

The Homicide Unit of the Cincinnati Police Department will continue investigating the details of this unsettling crime.
