Judge Recognizes Burglary Suspect in Emotional 'Class Reunion'

They both attended middle school together.

Arthur Booth, a suspected burglar, went before a judge on Thursday (July 2), only to learn that they were middle school classmates.

CBS reports that, during Booth's hearing in a Miami bond court on grand theft and burglary charges, Judge Mindy Glazer made the connection. "Did you go to Nautilus for middle school?," she asked. His emotional reaction that followed was captured on video, showing him tearing up, grabbing his head and repeatedly saying, "Oh my goodness."

"I'm sorry to see you there," Glazer continued. "I always wondered what happened to you, sir. This was the nicest kid in middle school."

NBC Miami reports that 49-year-old Booth was arrested on Monday by police in Hialeah. The station adds that he was spotted driving a gold Honda Accord, which was later connected to a home burglary. When an officer attempted to pull him over, he allegedly fled the scene, launching a police pursuit. He is said to have ran several stop signs and caused two accidents before fleeing on foot.

Glazer wished her childhood classmate well before ordering that he be held on $43,000 bond. "Good luck to you, sir. I hope you're able to come out of this okay and just lead a lawful life," she said.
