Michael Brown's Mother on Forgiving Darren Wilson: 'Never'

Almost a year after the shooting death of Michael Brown, his mother Leslie McSpadden is not offering up forgiveness to former Ferguson, Mo., officer Darren Wilson for killing the 18-year-old.

Almost a year after the shooting death of Michael Brown, his mother Lesley McSpadden is not offering up forgiveness to former Ferguson, Mo., officer Darren Wilson for killing the 18-year-old.
During an interview with Al Jazeera America set to air Wednesday, McSpadden said she will "never" pardon Wilson for slaying her son. She also commented on a recent profile of Wilson in the New Yorker, in which he stated, "Do I think about who he was as a person?' Not really, because it doesn't matter at this point," when speaking on Brown. Wilson also said he doesn't believe Brown had the "right upbringing."

"He's evil," said McSpadden. "And we definitely know he didn't have the right upbringing because those are words that you just don't use especially after you took somebody's life.

"But he can't hurt me with his words. What he did last year hurt me really bad. So his words mean nothing to me."
The Department of Justice cleared Wilson in March, stating that the former cop did not violate Brown's constitutional rights. A St. Louis County grand jury decided not to indict Wilson in the killing of Brown in December, igniting protests nationally.
Hundreds are expected to gather this weekend in Ferguson in memory of Brown for concerts, rallies and other events.
