Woman Arrested for Calling 911

Officers says she dialed emergency 150 times since June.

911 wants a Georgia woman to lose their number.
Toshiba L. Smith was taken into police custody last week for calling 911 more than 150 times in two months, the Macon Telegraph reports. Bibb County authorities charged the 41-year-old with making false reports and misusing the emergency line.

A sheriff's report says the woman was arrested Tuesday after calling 911 to claim a neighbor was using a recording device to monitor her. The report says Smith sometimes called emergency services so often that officers were showing up at her home back-to-back. Smith was reportedly warned that she would be arrested if she didn't stop making the calls, but that didn't deter her.

She was released on $1,300 bond Wednesday. A telephone number listed in her name was disconnected Thursday.
