What Crazy Things Will POTUS Do? Obama to Tape Running Wild With Bear Grylls

POTUS hopes to highlight the impact of climate change.

President Obama is set to tape an episode of NBC’s Running Wild With Bear Grylls when he visits Alaska on Tuesday, the network announced on Monday.

Will President Obama eat worms, scale cliffs and sleep with sheep like Michael B. Jordan did this week? A petition was started on Monday on the White House website after the announcement to get POTUS to drink his own urine like Grylls has done a few times as a "survival technique." There are about 300 signatures as of Tuesday morning.

“I will not deny your suspicion that there may have been some suggestions put forward by the Bear Grylls team that were not approved by the Secret Service," White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters aboard Air Force One Monday, USA Today reports.

POTUS hopes to talk about the impacts of climate change in the region as well as learn a few survival tips from the outdoor-adventure host.

“Alaskans are on the front lines of one of the greatest challenges we face this century,” Obama said in a White House video. “What’s happening in Alaska isn’t just a preview of what will happen to the rest of us if we don’t take action, it’s our wake-up call. The alarm bells are ringing, and as long as I’m president, America will lead the world to meet this threat before it’s too late.”

The episode will air later this year.
