A video of Gilbert Flores, 41, who was said to be resisting arrest when he was shot by police Friday in San Antonio shows him holding up his hands when an officer opened fire on him. He died at the scene.
The video obtained by a local San Antonio news station KSAT from a bystander conflicts with what authorities said happened. Deputies Greg Vasquez and Robert Sanchez said that Flores was armed and that they shot him after using "non-fatal" methods to detain him, the Associated Press reports.
In the footage, police approached a home after responding to a domestic violence call and said they found a woman and baby injured at the scene, the Associated Press reports. Flores can be seen fleeing from the same house, but he stayed in front of the property. Flores raises both hands and an officer aimed their weapon at Flores and shot him down. Flores appears unresponsive after the shooting.
The incident is currently being investigated by the Bexar County Sheriff's Office and the District Attorney.
