A Missouri man accused of killing two teenagers and an infant after a domestic dispute has been charged with triple homicide. Joseph Nelson, 22, allegedly went on the killing spree in Kansas City, Mo., when one of the teens, identified as his ex-girlfriend, threw a box of diapers at him in the midst of a heated argument.
Five witnesses came forward following the killings with slightly varying accounts of what happened on that fateful night. Some testimony implies premeditation, while others describe it as a spur-of-the-moment act of violence. Nelson denies any involvement with the killings.
Nelson has been charged with three counts of murder in the first degree. He was also charged with three counts of armed criminal action and one county of burglary. He was taken into custody on Wednesday. A $1 million bond has been requested.
A statement from the father of Bianca Fletcher, the 17-year-old who was killed and grandfather of the murdered infant, reads:
“I want to thank police for their quick action to bring justice to all. That’s what I can say. This is for all. Not just my family. My daughter and grandson were precious. We are hurting and angry, but we are grateful justice is being sought for my daughter and grandson. ... I praise God that the police acted so quickly."
Our condolences go out to the families of the deceased.
