A NYPD officer will lose 30 vacation days after a 2013 incident in whcih they pulled a gun out on two innocent children playing tag in Brooklyn, New York, the New York Daily News reports.

NYPD Capt. Brian McCaughey told Kesean Smalls, who was 13 at the time, “Motherf**ker, get on the ground!” He then put handcuffs on the boy. Jahniel Hinds, his friend, watched this ordeal unfold with his mother, the Daily News reports. A few minutes later, the boys were playing tag and another cop handcuffed Smalls. The boys said the police then pulled out their weapons.
"We were playing. As we were running towards each other that's when they started aiming their guns and everything,” Smalls explained. Jahniel's mother Corinia intervened to deescalate the situation. The officers put their weapons down when they realized they were at the wrong location.
“Pointing a gun at two young boys, who had done nothing other than play tag on their own street, was a reckless use of force that traumatized them and created an extremely dangerous situation,” said CCRB executive director Mina Malik, according to the Daily News.
