Last Thursday the former cop was convicted of 18 of the 36 charges against him, including first degree rape, forcible sodomy and stalking. He mainly targeted Black women with criminal backgrounds, including sex workers and women with drug addictions.
Holtzclaw was placed on suicide watch the following day with a deputy or detention officer stationed outside of his cell.
During the sentencing, Holtzclaw was inconsolable, weeping and crying as the judge read the convictions on what was coincidentally the former cop's 29th birthday.
He faces up to 263 years in prison.
