An American Airlines co-pilot was arrested in front of passengers after failing two Breathalyzer tests. The co-pilot, who has yet to be identified, showed up to the Detroit Metropolitan Airport for a flight to Philadelphia.
TSA agents reported the pilot after they suspected that his breath had alcohol above .04% limit. The Romulus Michigan Police Department was called after he failed an initial Breathalyzer test.
After the police arrived to the scene, they issued another test, which he also failed. He was immediately arrested and detained in front of passengers.
The flight was then cancelled, leaving several passengers stranded in Detroit.
This almost sounds like the movie Flight. Except this pilot is definitely not academy award winning actor Denzel Washington. He is someone whose serious lapse in judgment could have put many people at risk.
