This Woman Believes She Was Booted From a Plane for Wearing a #BLM Shirt
An American Airlines flight found itself in the middle of a precarious situation early Tuesday morning. Security officers escorted Imani Cezanne, a young passenger traveling from Charlotte to Atlanta, off the commercial plane.
According to representatives at American Airlines, “an unruly passenger was removed from American Eagle Flight 5192, operated by PSA Airlines, from CLT to ATL due to failure to comply with crew member instructions. The passenger refused to exit aircraft when asked, so local law enforcement was called.”
However, Imani took to twitter saying:
“Today I was escorted off of a plane by two armed Caucasian male officers. I have never believed so strongly that I could die at any moment.” She then stated that she is ready to find a lawyer to address the issue. She also tweeted a picture of herself wearing a Black Lives Matter T-shirt with a caption reading:
“What I was wearing when I was unnecessarily ejected from my flight because the FA felt ‘threatened.’ Coincidence?”
Immediately following the incident, American Airlines said that they had no plans to contact or speak to the passenger regarding the issue; however, they seem to have changed their tune a bit.
According to Imani’s Twitter, an American Airline’s representative finally contacted her.
