Watch: Chicago Cop Stomps on Man’s Head During an Arrest

And here's what happened to the officer.

A recent video was posted to Facebook which caused the Chicago Police Department to open an investigation. The video appeared to show an officer stomping on the head of a man while another officer restrained him.

According to the police department, the officers were involved in a narcotics investigation which led them to the 3900 block of West Greenshaw. From the video, a plainclothes officer wrestles with the unidentified Black man in the video. Although it’s hard to see, the officer suggests that the man was biting him.

The struggle between the man and officer continues until he restrains the man to the ground. At this point, another officer approaches the scene. After he arrives, he tells people watching to “get back.” It’s here that he kicks the man in the head, presumably knocking him unconscious.

After the video was made public by way of Facebook, several law enforcement officers have come forward to try and offer suggestions as to what is really happening. From the look of the video, it appears that two officers used excessive force to restrain an individual, but apparently that is just an illusion that the media wants us to believe.

According to Dean Angelo Sr., president of the Fraternal Order of Police lodge that represents the officer, there is a “new trend of jumping to stripping an officer before the incident's investigated.” Angelo believes that if people would be more compliant with officers, then “a lot of these situations that have been headlines would not be in the headlines.”

Neither the officer’s nor the man’s identity have been released and the investigation into what actually happened is pending.
