Watch: Police Beat, Taser and Suffocate Black Teenage Girl

She was unarmed and outnumbered

Witnesses in a mall parking lot in Madison, Wisconsin, captured a Black, teenage, girl receiving some extremely harsh treatment by the police.

According to the police report, 18 year-old Genele H. Laird was acting out of control in the food court of East Towne Mall. When police arrived on the scene, Laird was allegedly very agitated. She had been involved in a dispute with a Taco Bell employee because she claimed her phone was stolen.

After talking to the employee, it’s alleged that Laird then pulled out a knife and threatened the employee. Then mall security arrived on the scene, who said that she then threatened to kill them and not leave until she received her missing phone.

The security officers then phoned 911 and Madison police officers arrived on the scene. After they arrived, they attempted to arrest Laird, who appeared to somewhat resist the arrest. Then the officers held her down. One officer repeatedly kneed her in the stomach and then used a Taser on her leg and stomach.

As the officers hold her down, Laird can be heard pleading with the officers and saying, “I can’t breathe.” At the end of the video, a bag is placed over her head as she lies on the concrete.

Afterward, the Madison Police Department said that they believed she had a knife and was acting extremely hostile, but we think the video speaks for itself.
