An elderly woman was caught harassing a young child who was trying to sell candy outside of a Target in Rowland, California. The video of the incident went viral after it was posted to Facebook and so far has over 6 million views.
The man in the video, identified as Jay Lopez, is being hailed as a hero for defending the littke kid and putting the old woman in her rightful place.
Andy Lizarraga, the young woman who posted the Facebook video, captioned, "Outside of Target, someone was selling candy. As my mom and I were walking away, a lady went up to this person and told them she wanted to see their license to sell.?" Lizarraga continued to explain that the older woman harrased the young child to the point of tears.
What happened next was heartwarming.
Lopez came to the aid of the young child and gave the woman a piece of his mind. "You should be ashamed of yourself," he says in the video. Lopez doesn't stop there, though. He goes on to buy the entire box, $80 worth of candy, and then proceeds to tell the rude woman, "I'm gonna buy it all and I'm gonna give it away to all these people."
The woman stands her ground, but once the young child totals the worth, Lopez says, "I'm gonna go right now and get you cash."
The video just goes to show you that for every person who is out there to break people down, there is another person who will help build them back up again.
