Watch: Brooklyn Mom Alleges Her Daughter Was Sexually Assaulted at School Twice in One Week

Here's what the school has to say.

Schools are supposed to be a safe environment where a child can explore the endless world of educational possibilities. But one Brooklyn mother was recently horrified when she learned that her 12-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted twice in one week while at her charter school.

“I feel like my daughter is scarred for the rest of her life," Nicole Welcome, 29, said to reporters outside Brooklyn Family Court. “It’s disgusting for a parent to learn her daughter was almost raped inside a school building.”

The NYPD has since arrested four boys for the two attacks which took place on September 30 and October 6.

Police said that there was video footage from the October 6 assault, which led to the boys’ arrest. At 4:30 p.m., the boys pulled down the girl's pants and touched her while standing under a stairwell in the basement.

The boys and the girl attend two different schools that are housed in the same building. The 12-year-old girl — who has subsequently changed schools — attended Ocean Hill Collegiate Charter School while the boys attended Mott Hall IV Middle School.

Legal papers for the boys arrested have not yet been filed by the juvenile crimes division of the city law department.

The education department has not commented on specifics of the case, but are working to support all efforts made for justice. A spokeswoman for the city’s education department, Toya Holness, said, “We are working closely with the NYPD as they conduct an investigation, and are providing the school and families with ongoing supports.”
