Through what appears to be a very bleak and dismal time for the country, CNN correspondent Van Jones offers a beacon of hope to us all.
On election night, he emotionally captured the fear and anger that many non-white Americans were expressing and created the #whitelash trend. He also spoke up and defended the anger of the protesters that took the streets after Hillary Clinton's concession.
He most recently stepped away from the CNN cameras and used his personal Facebook account to address the concerns that he has been seeing.
In a video, Jones eloquently explains to troubled and terrified Americans how we can all survive the #whitelash.
It may seem hard to do right now, but for us to get through this and remain strong and unified we must take Jones's advice.
Take time to grieve, don't panic and educate yourself.
We are the resilient ones who will hold not only Donald Trump but this entire country accountable for electing someone who ran a campaign of hate.
After we have taken our time to reckon with this shocking election, we can unite to understand what went wrong and how we can all be solutions to the problem.
