Watch: Heart-wrenching Discovery of Decomposed Body Floating in San Diego Channel Is Missing Mom

Navy wife Elizabeth Sullivan disappeared in October of 2014.

Investigators reportedly identified the body of a missing woman that was pulled from a San Diego channel two months ago, officials said.

Navy wife and mother of two Elizabeth Sullivan was last seen alive on the night of October 13, 2014. The last communication anyone had with her was through a text she’d sent that day.

On October 4, a woman’s body was found floating a channel near the shoreline at Farragut. Although her body was not immediately identified, officials could tell from her decomposed body that she had been dead for quite some time.

Although a cause of death has not yet been publicly announced, police are classifying the case as a homicide, reported the San Diego Tribune. No arrests have been made in connection to the case and investigators are still looking for possible leads.

After she went missing, her father traveled to San Diego to help the search efforts.

"It can happen to you. When it does, it gets very personal, and it takes on a whole new light when it happens to you," Sullivan’s father Edward Ricks told NBC 7 at the time.

After her disappearance, her husband Matthew divulged to People Magazine that the couple was having marital conflicts. He admitted to giving her space, but claimed she never stayed away for longer than a night.
