'America at Its Most Ignorant' – People Are Dragging Republicans Who Want to #BoycottStarbucks for Pledging to Hire 10,000 Refugees

And many are excited to enjoy a cup of coffee without the presence of bigots.
  • In a letter to all starbucks employees, CEO Howard Schultz responded to Trump's immigration ban by pledging to hire 10,000 refugees

"We have a long history of hiring young people looking for opportunities and a pathway to a new life around the world. This is why we are doubling down on this commitment by working with our equity market employees as well as joint venture and licensed market partners in a concerted effort to welcome and seek opportunities for those fleeing war, violence, persecution and discrimination. There are more than 65 million citizens of the world recognized as refugees by the United Nations, and we are developing plans to hire 10,000 of them over five years in the 75 countries around the world where Starbucks does business. And we will start this effort here in the U.S. by making the initial focus of our hiring efforts on those individuals who have served with U.S. troops as interpreters and support personnel in the various countries where our military has asked for such support," Schultz said in a letter.

  • Once Trump supporters heard the news, they started a plan to #boycottstarbucks

  • Many cited the move as 'unamerican'

  • And protesters of the ban called out those wanting to boycott for being just as bigoted as the president's actions

  • Many called out republicans for only caring about vets or jobs that they've never spoken of when the topic of immigrants comes up

  • Some even commented that they are happy to enjoy Starbucks knowing they will not be in presence of racists

  • And all political reasons aside, there is another major benefit from hiring refugees as pointed out by one Twitter user
