We're In Love With Judge Qiana Lillard For Completely Shutting Down A Disrespectful Woman In Her Courtroom

The Detroit judge gave her 93 days in jail.

In the workplace, sometimes you’re on your last nerve and the next person that irks you is gonna get it.

  • Recently, Detroit Judge Qiana Lillard had her patience running thin while sentencing 25-year-old Amanda Kosal for killing a father of five during a drunk driving accident. That’s when she saw the defendant’s mother Donna Kosal laughing and mocking the victims family during an impact statement.

Lillard quickly decided to throw Donna and another man out of the courtroom for criminal contempt and sentenced her to 93 days in jail. Video of the incident went viral, and Lillard has become our not taking s**t anymore representative.

“It's time for him to go,” the judge says, looking out into the courtroom gallery. “And I don't know who he is, but whoever can sit here at a tragic moment like this and laugh and smile when somebody has lost a family member... in the entire time that Mr. Zirker's sister was speaking that clown, and that's what I am going to call him, a clown, was sitting there smiling and laughing.

“These people are here grieving, saddened because a senseless act took away their loved one and you're sitting here acting like it's a joke?” Judge Lillard continued. “Anybody else want to go? Try it.”

Perhaps the best part was when Donna Kosal tried arguing with the judge as she was taken away in handcuffs and said something about the judge’s mouth. Lillard’s Ether response. “Well your mouth just got you 93 days.”

The next day Kosal appeared before Judge Lillard and had her sentence significantly reduced, but the damage on her reputation was already done. As for Amanda Kosal, she received three to 15 years in prison.

The Internet went wild over Judge Lillard’s DGAF attitude, particularly the “93 days” line. Check out their reaction below.
