All of Twitter Died, Came Back to Life, and Died Again in the Time Between Rachel Maddow's Trump Tax Return Tweet and the Big Reveal

Many are dragging the MSNBC anchor for all hype and no delivery.
  • On Tuesday evening, while most of the northeast was evading a winter storm, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow was dropping some heat in the form of a tax return centered tweet

  • Then all of twitter was like

  • Maddow's announcement came almost 90 minutes before the broadcast, which sent people into waiting hysteria

  • People even tweeted at MSNBC's Chris Hayes, whose show precedes Maddow's, to get off the tv

  • Then the White House decided to become the world's biggest spoiler and tweeted out Trump's tax information before Maddow's show

  • And everyone sat in front of their Televisions and computers like

  • But the show must go on, and before we knew it, the Rachel Maddow Show had begun

  • However, Maddow continued to hype the returns and took a commercial break before getting to the actual documents

  • In the big reveal, Maddow detailed how Trump claimed a $157 million income and paid $38 million in taxes in 2005

  • Many called Maddow's segment a flop

  • Yet, the excitement surrounding Trump's tax returns should make it painfully clear that the American public wants the president to be fully transparent when it comes to his income
