This Mother Physically Assaulted and Used an Ax to Destroy the Car of a Teen Who Rivaled Her Daughter

A judge offered harsh words to Ernstlatta LaFrance.

It’s no secret that teenage girls can be extremely cruel to each other. Often times, young women find it just as easy to form enemies as they do friendships. However, for one Miami mother, knowing that her daughter had a rival instilled a passionate rage that resulted in violence.

Ernstlatta LaFrance, 30, willingly visited Carol City Senior High School to confront the girl who rivaled her daughter. When she approached the girl, she assaulted her by knocking a cellphone out of her hand and striking her several times, reported the Miami Herald

When the teen and a few friends later showed up to LaFrance’s home to retrieve her phone, the angry mother continued to attack the teen. This time, LaFrance used an ax to destroy the unidentified teen’s car and broke the teen’s middle finger, according to a police report.

The defendant "took a stick and struck the victim’s right hand and the vehicle,” an officer wrote in the report.

During the altercation at LaFrance’s home, her partner, Erlisa Evans, 28, came outside with a weapon and shot three times in the air. Evans faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and firing a gun in public.

According to officials, this all began when LaFrance’s daughter and the victim engaged in a fight at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition.

Now, LaFrance faces several charges including strong-armed robbery, child abuse and aggravated battery.

The 30-year-old mother was being held in Miami-Dade’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $38,000 bond; however, Judge Mindy Glazer reduced LaFrance's bond to $6,000.

Glazer also offered LaFrance some tough words of advice.

"I see how old you are, it's time to act your age, not your shoe size," Judge Glazer said, according to NBC 6.

Police added that LaFrance posted a video of the fight to Facebook “and warned those messing with her daughter to beware,” an officer wrote.

“The defendant also bragged on Facebook telling the victim that suffering two black eyes was not the end and she would use a gun,” the officer stated in the report.
