This Man Paid $100 for a Date With This Woman and Last Week the Two Got Married

Who says romance is dead?

When 47-year-old Frank Befera visited the controversial dating website Whatsyourprice.com to “buy” a date, he had no idea his $100 risk would result in a marriage. However, when Christy Befera, 42, met Frank, she knew he was the one.

Christy originally joined the site — which allows men to pay for a date with a woman — in order to pay off some bills.

Yet, just two weeks after getting bought for a C-note, Christy professed her love for Frank. Last week, the couple married in an intimate beach ceremony.

The relationship first began in February 2014, when Frank made his winning bid. Although Christy was not expecting to fall in love, she was ecstatic to meet Frank.

“I wasn’t looking for anything in particular,” she told Daily Mail. “I thought if I met someone awesome, it would be great, but if I didn’t, it would mean I could pay a few bills and have a few nice evenings. For me, it was a win-win situation.”

Frank, who works as an IT professional, could not agree more.

“She was beautiful and I thought she was out of my league, but it was worth a shot,” Frank said.

In April of 2014, the couple officially met and had a great first date. After spending the evening eating and drinking, Frank paid Christy for her time.

“I didn't mention the money until the end, as I didn't want her to get the money, decide she didn't like me and leave,” Frank told Daily Mail. “It gave me a chance to charm her.”

And charm her he did. Although Christy went on other dates from the site, Frank was always on her mind. Their relationship eventually grew into a more traditional romance. Soon, they were meeting each other’s families and Frank was figuring out how to propose.

“We were at Disney World on New Year's Eve and I just decided it was the perfect moment to ask, so I got down on one knee with a ring,” Frank said.

On March 31, 2017, the couple married on Apollo Beach in Florida. The couple hopes they can soon have kids of their own.
