A photograph of two firefighters comforting two children after a horrific car crash is going viral for all the right reasons.

Sam Berry and Jared Davis of the Amarillo, Texas Fire Department were photographed consoling a young boy and girl after they had been in a car accident. While both were uninjured, they were visibly shaken.

The Amarillo FD posted the picture on their Facebook Monday (June 12) and since, the image has gained more than 2,300 reactions. Davis, a seven-year veteran of the department said he was simply doing his job.

“Every guy on the job has probably done this, we just happened to get photographed,” he told KFDA. “I’m a firm believer that compassion is a form of medicine.”

The Amarillo Fire Department originally captioned the photo, “It's not always just medical treatment we provide. Here is a photo of firefighters Sam Berry and Jared Davis providing emotional support to two (uninjured) young children that were involved in a vehicle accident recently.”

Davis commented on the photo, writing, “That's the best part of the job right there!”

Other people overwhelmingly commented in support of the firefighters and praised them for their compassion.
