Obama Offers Heartfelt Message To Barcelona While Trump Tweets About Shooting Muslims With Pigs' Blood-Dipped Bullets

Barack's message was appreciated while Donald got a history lesson.

Following the Thursday terrorist attack in Barcelona, which killed at least 13 and injured over 100, former President Barack Obama and President Donald Trump tweeted out two glaringly different messages.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack which involved a van driving through a crowd of people. Following the initial attack, two other incidents involving vehicles ramming into crowds occurred in Spain.

  • On Thursday, Barack Obama tweeted a message from him and Michelle, offering the people of Spain 'Un abrazo' (a hug)

  • In addition to offering his condolences, Trump also tweeted about a debunked myth in history

Trump is referring to a rumored tactic of shooting Muslims with bullets dipped in pigs' blood or burying them with the bodies of pigs. For a period of time, many believed Gen. John J. Pershing employed such tactics following the Philippine-American War.

However, there is no evidence to support this claim and Snopes, a website that fact-checks rumors, declared it to be false.

  • While Obama's tweet received over 1.3 million likes, Trump's received a history lesson
