This Dad Couldn't Get Back To Houston So He Joined His Daughter's Grad School Class And Hilarity Ensued

Nothing says family bonding like sharing a syllabus.

As the city of Houston rebuilds after the devastation of Tropical Storm Harvey, many residents are still finding it difficult to make their way back home. Although this may be a stressful time for some, one Houston father turned his delayed return into some father/daughter quality time.

Kerubo Anassi recently started graduate school at the New School in New York City. Although her parents live in Houston, they traveled with her to New York to help her move in. As a result of Harvey, Kerubo's father, Enock, found out his flight home would be indefinitely delayed.

Instead of stressing out over the travel nightmare, Enock decided to use his free time to join his daughter's first Oral History class.

  • After joined Kerubo in class, Enock sent a photo in a group chat with the rest of the family

  • In the chat, Kerubo desperately tries to get her dad to leave. She tells the rest of the family that he even got a class syllabus.

According to Buzzfeed News, Enock introduced himself to the entire class and sometimes quizzed his daughter on the material they covered. As a professor himself, Enock gave Kerubo an extra assignment at the end of class.

  • Enock even facetimed some of the family members who weren't present

  • After seeing the text from his dad, Omete, Kerubo's brother, posted the hilarious story to Twitter

  • Soon enough, everyone was commenting on the hilarity of the situation

  • The New School was so touched by the story, they made sure Enock properly represented their institution

  • And this girl could relate all too well
