Woman Called 'Womb Raider' Slit Her Pregnant Friend's Throat And Cut Out Her Unborn Child On Her Wedding Day

Ashleigh Wade devised a disturbing plan to butcher Angelikque Sutton.

A Bronx woman was charged with kidnapping and murder after butchering a pregnant woman on her wedding day and cutting out her entire uterus to remove her unborn child.

The disturbing attack executed by Ashleigh Wade, 22, was not only vicious, but it was planned in multiple stages, prosecutors said Monday in court.

On Nov. 20, 2015, Angelikque Sutton was on her way to get married to Patrick Bradley; however, she made a last minute stop by Wade’s home. Wade, who was acquaintances with Sutton, promised the bride-to-be that she had a gift for her. However, when Sutton arrived at Wade’s home, she was attacked in several phases, reported The New York Post.

“The defendant cut Ms. Sutton’s larynx — her voice box,” Assistant Bronx DA Meredith Holtzman told the jury on Monday. “Ms. Sutton could not scream, could not say a word. She cut her major blood vessels.

“What the defendant did to her next is almost unspeakable,” Holtzman said. “Because after she had rendered Ms. Sutton unable to scream, unable to move, the defendant took a kitchen paring knife and sliced Ms. Sutton’s abdomen open at the bottom half.

“Once she had cut Ms. Sutton’s abdomen open, the defendant cut Ms. Sutton’s uterus entirely out. She cut that uterus open, took baby Jenasis out, and discarded that uterus on the bathroom floor," Holtzman continued

At her arraignment on Tuesday, Wade pleaded not guilty although she told police a different story when she was first arrested.

“How long until I go to jail? I did it. I killed her. I just want to go,” Wade told cops, according to court papers. "I just killed someone. I stabbed her as many times as I could."

The court papers also included Wade’s written statement, which detailed the attack she said was in self-defense.

"I let her in and right after coming up stairs she starts bringing up elementary school saying that I treated her badly and that she will never forget,” the statement said. “I was confused and questioned her and she began cornering me in my kitchen."

Wade then alleged the two fought over the knife.

"I tried to kick her and she stabbed me twice in my leg,” Wade wrote. “I kicked the knife out her hand and grabbed it and started stabbing her. She fell and was still grabbing after me so I continued stabbing her until she stopped moving.”

However, prosecutors said Wade's attack was planned after she lost a baby of her own.

“The defendant needed for Ms. Sutton to die, and she needed for Jenasis to live,” Holtzman said. “She had baby clothes, baby shoes, diapers, formula, a crib, everything that an expectant mother would need, except a baby. She didn’t have a baby. For that she needed Angelikque Sutton.”

Baby Jenasis survived the terrible attack.
