Bernie Wilson, of the Blue Dead at 64

Bernie Wilson, an original member of the legendary R&B singing group, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes passed away yesterday from undisclosed medical complications at Kresson View Center in Voorhees, NJ. He was 64 years old.

The baritone joined the Philadelphia singing group that featured Melvin, Lloyd Parks, Lawrence Brown and lead singer Teddy Pendergrass in 1972. The popular group released a number of hit songs including “If You Don't Know Me By Now," "The Love I Lost" and "Wake Up Everybody." Wilson’s passing leaves Parks as the last remaining member of the original group.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
