The Congressional Black Caucus Honors a Civil Rights Legend
Rep. Alcee Hastings (Florida)
Although I was not there the day that Dr. King delivered his historic "I Have a Dream" speech on the National Mall, the impact of his message still resonated in me as it did in persons of color all across this nation. Our country has changed much since that historic event, but unfortunately we still find ourselves struggling for equality and justice. The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial serves as a reminder to us all that we have the ability to make a difference in this world and that this fight is not yet over.
