Rep. Bennie Thompson (Mississippi)

Martin Luther King Jr. represents to me the profound sacrifice that he and many of his generation made to further the cause of civil rights across the globe. It is my hope that this memorial will serve as a shining beacon to the progress we have made in the past 50 years--and will continue to teach the next generation to further his dream and celebrate his life.
